She received an Honorable Mention in the Gutsy Great Novelist’s Page One Prize competition for her current horror novel in progress.
Her horror screenplay received a Finalist placement at Barnstorm Fest, and her comedy screenplay received a Finalist placement in the Screencraft Comedy Competition.
She wrote and directed two short horror films that screened at 20 festivals nationwide. “Playing with Spiders” received 3 awards and 5 nominations. “Jess Is a Clown Now” received 6 awards and 5 nominations.
As a member of IATSE’s Editor’s Guild, Rylan worked as a film editor (IMDB) for a decade in Los Angeles on feature films and TV shows for Disney, Showtime, Adult Swim, and more after graduating from the University of Colorado Denver with a BFA in Film & Television, emphasis in Writing & Directing.
